LAXART and Hermès are pleased to present the second LAXART Benefit Auction, featuring works by over 100 emerging and established international and LA-based artists on Sunday, November 4 at the LAXART gallery. The benefit and auction celebrate LAXART, one of the most vibrant, independent contemporary art spaces to be established in Los Angeles in recent years, as well as showcase the liveliness of the LA art scene.
Forging connections between different generations of artists working in Los Angeles, LAXART has selected a notable group of contemporary artists who will invite other artists to participate in the auction. The impressive collection for this year's auction includes new work from over 100 leading local, national, and international contemporary artists such as Edgar Arceneaux, John Baldessari, Walead Beshty, Brian Bress, Jedidiah Cesar, Gregory Crewdson, Charles Gaines, Wade Guyton, Karl Haendel, Salomon Huerta, Mary Kelly, Terence Koh, Kalup Linzy, Shana Lutker, Nathan Mabry, Catherine Opie, Laura Owens, Raymond Pettibon, Marco Rios, Amanda Ross-Ho, Allen Ruppersberg, Dean Sameshima, Matt Saunders, Alex Slade, Lisa Tan, Joel Tauber, Mungo Thomson, Kelley Walker, and many others.
This second LAXART Benefit Auction has already garnered support from philanthropists from L.A.’s cultural core including Matt Aberle, Kimberly Brooks, Jake and Ruth Bloom, Bill and Eve Gerber, Ilene Kurtz Kretzschmar, Shaun Regen, Eve Steele and Peter Gelles, and Richard and Liane Weintraub as well as notable Hollywood patrons of the arts, such as Linda and Jerry Bruckheimer, Victoria and Dennis Hopper, Brent Ratner, and Keisha and Forest Whitaker. All proceeds will benefit LAXART’s future exhibitions, public projects, and publications.
An exclusive VIP preview and cocktail reception for the host committee and VIP ticket holders kicks off the event at 4pm. This will be followed by an exciting live auction that features significant works from 6pm to 7pm, and then the silent auction will last from 7pm to 9pm.
Ticket Information: VIP tickets, which include admission to the preview reception and live auction, are $150 and will be available in advance or at the door.
